Carnival Memphis 5K for Kids
 Carnival Memphis, celebrating 77 years as the Party with a Purpose, will hold its sixth annual Carnival Memphis 5K for Kids Run/Walk on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
The event will benefit the Carnival Children’s Charity Initiative, which is entering its tenth year. Carnival Memphis selects three area Children’s Charities each year and with the help of the Grand Krewes of Carnival, money is raised and donated to the selected agencies. Dring the first nine years of the Initiative, over $775,000 has been donated to area Children’s Charities. This year’s recipients are:
Cyctic Fibrois Foundation
Carnival Memphis Kids Cafe, and
The Harwood Center
In 2008 Carnival Memphis has made a goal to raise at least $100,000 for the Children’s Charity Initiative. The Carnival 5K for Kids will be an integral event in reaching this goal. The event will be comprised of a 5K Walk/Run as well as a Kids Fun Run. Enjoy live music,face painting, ballon artists, clowns, and food. It's a great time for all ages!
